Frequently Asked Questions
Learn about masterbatch compounding, carrier resin compatibility, and spectrophotometer shade matching.
Q1 What is the purpose of this app?
The Universal Masterbatch app is for finding a shade, comparing it with the catalog, and asking the laboratory for a sample. You can search formulations, match a target color, save shades to a wishlist, and send an enquiry.
Q2 Does the app support different color formats?
Yes. The color matcher accepts HEX, RGB, and CMYK. Catalog shades use the color stored on each formulation, and nearby matches are ranked by color distance.
Q3 Which phones can use the Universal Masterbatch app?
The companion app is built for Android and iOS. It is intended for plant managers, compounding technicians, and procurement teams who need shade matching on the shop floor, at a trade fair, or in the lab.
Q4 How do wishlists work?
After you sign in, you can save catalog shades to a wishlist for a mould, tool, or production job, and remove a shade when it is no longer needed.
Q5 How does the Color Matcher work?
Enter a target color as HEX, RGB, or CMYK on the website or in the app. The matcher compares that color with the live masterbatch catalog and lists the nearest formulations by Delta-E.
Q6 How do I search the masterbatch catalog?
Search by color name, CM number, or Pantone reference. On the website you can also filter by carrier resin and application. Each shade shows its stored color, not a single shared swatch.
Q7 Can I request a physical laboratory sample?
Yes. Use the inquiry form on the website or the sample request in the app. Send the target shade, Pantone or RAL reference, carrier resin, application, and estimated volume. The laboratory prepares trial plaques before dispatch.
Q8 Which polymers and carrier resins do you support?
Formulations cover polyolefins (PP, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE), PET, PVC, polystyrene, ABS, polycarbonate, POM, and nylon (PA 6 and PA 66), plus universal color concentrates. Carrier resin is matched to the polymer melt flow so the masterbatch stays compatible.
Q9 Which applications can these masterbatches be used for?
Typical uses include packaging and films, automotive, electrical and telecom, healthcare, fibre and textiles, agriculture, infrastructure and pipes, household appliances, and engineering plastics and rubber.
Q10 Who is Universal Masterbatch?
Universal Masterbatch LLP, established in 1989, manufactures masterbatches, mono concentrates, and specialty additives in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and supplies plastic and rubber processors in India and overseas.
